"Fill your paper with the breathings of the heart."--William Wadsworth
H is for Heart - Write from it.
Before you set that clock timer; before you pick up your fastest writing pen; before you open your journal to write like the wind, it is important to first s-l-o-w your brain.
Spend 15 minutes concentrating on your body.
Take a step forward.
Feel your heel touch the floor,
your toes as they push your foot into the next step,
the next and the next.
Feel your hip, the ball in the socket, as it moves your body.
Feel this s-l-o-w movement in your waist,
down your left arm,
out finger tips;
cross to your right arm;
up through your finger tips,
Feel your blood pulse your throat.
Hear the beat of your heart.
Let your eyes see
the landscape of your mind.
See you in print,
Linda Della Donna
